Favorite Food Experience

Favorite food experience:  The Cheese Shop: Purveyor of "the world's finest foods" at 29 Walden Street is a fun experience on may levels.  First, the cheese is, well, unbelievably amazing.  My favorite is Vasterbotten.  There is also a 4 year aged Gouda which is unforgettable.  Second, the level of expertise in this shop is second to none.  If you want a university level crash course in old world cheese making, just listen to the staff.  They are "head spinning".  The deli has mouth watering goodies, the wine collection is fabulous and the breads and chocolates are beyond tempting.  This is an old world, quaint, local, family owned specialty shop and a Concord gem.

Police Log Chuckles

The Concord Journal's Police Log (favorite newspaper) has always been an entertaining read.  There are many comical posts among a very rare serious incident.  Today's chuckle was this:    5:52 a.m. – "Police responded to a report of a large pumpkin in the roadway by Walden Street and the Verizon building. The responding office reported it was unknown whether the pumpkin rolled into the street due to its rotting or if the vegetable was placed there."
Other favorites: "A woman called to report that her neighbor's chickens were out and there was a storm coming."
"A woman called to say that there was a spider caught in a parking meter."
"The spider did not look happy."
Gotta love the small town flavor, just 20 miles from the best city in the world.

A Walk at the North Bridge

The North Bridge is a place I walk when I want to be surrounded by beauty and history. The approach on Monument Street is pictoral, dotted with stunning antique architecture. The bridge is an intriguing structure. Simple, stoic, strong, beautiful. The gently rolling hills surrounding the Buttrick House and the river capture the essence of New England. This is the birthplace of our nation, and a Concord treasure. A visit to The North Bridge is magical, calming and inspiring.

Favorite eatery

Fast food to eat slowly...
La Provence is my favorite spot for lunch. The buffet will please everyone. The food is fabulous, the choices are fun. Fresh, tasty, diverse. The atmosphere is upbeat and light. I love to entertain friends there or stop for a fast but quality lunch. Treat yourself to this great eatery on Thoreau Street.
